Fizz CEO Teddy Solomon to Speak at Web Summit Vancouver on the Future of Gen Z Leadership and Social Media

Fizz, the social media platform created by Gen Z for Gen Z to form authentic digital communities, today announced that Co-Founder and CEO Teddy Solomon will take the stage at Web Summit Vancouver 2025, the first Web Summit conference in North America.

Solomon will join the Startup University Meet the Class of 2025 session, a conversation about the new faces of leadership under 30. Moderated by Rhett Power, the conversation will explore how they are stepping into a world that looks vastly different from the one Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, or Mark Zuckerberg once navigated – one that demands authenticity, community, and new models for connection. Solomon will discuss how Fizz is addressing this shift and creating new models for social connection designed for Gen Z. He’ll be joined by Loren Gray, Social Media Personality & Songwriter, and Jasper Carmichael-Jack, CEO and Founder of Artisan AI.

Solomon and his co-founder Ashton Cofer launched Fizz in 2021 as freshmen at Stanford, driven by a desire to create a space where students could share the full spectrum of their common experiences, not just the curated highlights that other social platforms thrive on. Since its launch, Fizz has raised $41 million and expanded to over 400 campuses, with more than 20 million posts shared.

Now, Fizz is expanding beyond individual campuses with a new feature that connects all of Gen Z around common experiences and shared identity. This new version of the product, Global Fizz, has exploded nationally, growing exponentially in the five months since launch.

“Companies like Instagram and TikTok are evolving into entertainment platforms, meant to encompass 1% of your life,” Solomon said. “At Fizz, we believe in building for the 99% of your life that doesn’t make it onto Instagram or TikTok: the social parts, the real parts. With the launch of Global Fizz, we are doubling down on social.”

At Web Summit, Solomon will speak alongside other emerging leaders defining the next era of technology, entrepreneurship, and social connection. Other speakers include NBA Champion and Olympian JaVale McGee, Professor and Author Dr. Cornel West, and Grammarly Co-Founder Max Lytvyn.
