Lady Million Marviette Touches Hearts and Makes Her Impact at the Los Angeles Book Confab and L.A. Times Festival of Books

Despite having a successful tech career at the start, Marviette A. Usher had an inkling that she was meant for something else, something bigger. And in the next 20 years, she came to know it for certain as she experienced divorce while still having to be a pillar of support for other women who had already experienced the same storm.

Thus, Lady Million Marviette was born.

Since that time, she has left her first career and pursued a life that was all about empowering phenomenal women. Hence, she put together the non-profit Phenomenal Woman Phenomenally YOU, working in a number of roles. She has worked in fashion, leadership development, volunteer work, and more. She has also found that her biggest instrument in helping her work is publishing books, and using book events as a platform to send her message and network for her cause.

Hence, in recent years, she has taken to showcasing her book “30 Pearls of ‘I DO!’” which shares more details about her life and the pearls of wisdom she hopes to pass on in her mission to positively impact a million women with her life’s work.

A couple of these events had already concluded with much success. First, she was both host and speaker at the Los Angeles Book Confab, organized by the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet, at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City in Universal City, impressing both visitors and fellow authors as she talked about her mission. The next was the L.A. Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California campus, where she had a wonderful signing session as she met with more people who took her message well.

Of course, it is not even halfway through the year, and she still looks forward to continuing many more projects in the future (such as appearances at other major book events).

Through the organization she founded, Phenomenal Woman, and her entrepreneurial mentorship program, King’s Daughters—now unified under her nonprofit Phenomenal Woman Phenomenally You—she has directly and indirectly impacted the lives of over 1,000 women. From providing services at the local homeless shelter to now working with business owners and ministry leaders, she continues to mentor both formal and informal leaders, ready to embrace their greatness.

She is a mentor at the Forsyth Tech Small Business Center, has served on community boards and is a member of several professional women’s organizations as well as a founding member of a city-wide movement to support and educate women.
