Maria Alice Silva-Amey’s Deep-Diving Novel About Family History, Dreamwork, and the Human Spirit Set to Exhibit at L.A. Times Festival of Books

The L.A. Times Festival of Books has become a popular destination for authors big and small, with all of them continuing to push the boundaries of modern literature. The books being exhibited during the festival are a testament to their dedication to combining ideas, themes, and plots that they have spent their lifetime exploring.

A great example recently has been Maria Alice Silva-Amey.

For the last few years, she has published extensive works for poetry and personal fulfillment. She has a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University and an AA in Literature and Language from the College of Sacramento. She has published books on poetry, short stories, and career counseling for multicultural students.

And for the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2025, she has now added a new novel to that growing list.

Its title is “Beautiful Moon: Wakes Me Up Before the Sunlight,” a story that brings together themes of family history, secret legacies, and forgiveness. It follows a woman named Lara who finds herself stuck in life until she begins researching her great-grandparents.

Along the way, she learns that life is a continued process of creation, where the achievements of one generation contribute to the development of the next. However, the story she uncovers may still have more beneath its surface.

Maria Alice, has been writing poems throughout her life and is a member of the National Career Development Association. She was born and raised in a multicultural community, where family and community values outweigh individuals’ values. She moved from Brazil to study English. Like many immigrants, and many that come after her. She worked all the way through school, studied hard, and graduated earning a Master of Science in Counseling. Maria Alice is the author of three published books, “Culminating Experience Personal Theory,” “Poetry Gives Different Magnitudes to Understand Your Thoughts: Feelings of Vision,” and “Beautiful Moon.”

She is a very hard worker and very dedicated person who is very intently interested in education. People who know her say she have a gift of kindness and of helping others see a feel how good they are. She has always encouraged people that they should reach their dreams and understand their visions.

Her holistic approach to help other. Find way to learn day-by-day with each other’s to guide transformation and learn how to go further to keeping going the journey. She earned her AA degree in Literature and Language from City College Sacramento, B.S. in International Business, and a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento

An important view of this Culminating Experience has been helped her to connect with individuals and help them to understand they own motivations, they own thoughts and feelings, dreams, and career goals. This book is not only for personal identity but also contribute to the quality and make a difference in the field of career choice.
