B. Duran W. is a retired educator and award-winning visual artist. She published her debut memoir, “Invisible,” in 2024. B. grew up in Southern California and is a first-generation Latina from immigrant parents. She earned a BA in liberal arts with emphases in Spanish and education and an MA in reading development from the University of California, Riverside. After many years working with students, teachers, and parents, she now resides in far northern California with her husband, surrounded by books and nature. When she’s not reading, writing, or painting, B. enjoys walking in nature, yoga exercises, and traveling.
