A double master’s degree holder in Business Administration and Communication, she serves as a Business and Communication Instructor at Faulkner University. Carlotta is also the recipient of two prestigious literary honors: the 2014 Georgia Regional Literary Festival Award in Dahlonega, Georgia, presented by the Civil Rights Division for her book I Lived on the Other Side of the Line, and the Darrell Holt Literary Award from the School of Religious Studies in Arkansas in 2023.

In addition to her literary achievements, Carlotta is a recognized leader and mentor, having received the GRONA FEST Educational Leadership Award. She currently serves as the President of the American Association of Women Mobile Branch and is an active member of Toastmasters International.
