Anheuser-Busch Delivered More Than 50,000 Cans of Emergency Drinking Water to East Oregon To Support Flood Relief Efforts
At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch delivered one truckload – more than 50,000 cans – of emergency drinking water to support Eastern Oregon residents after extreme flooding of the Silvies River threatened supplies of safe drinking water.
“The American Red Cross is grateful to Anheuser-Busch for stepping up to support Oregon families with emergency drinking water during this critical time.” said Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross. “Their quick response and generosity are vital to our ability to meet urgent needs on the ground and ensure that those impacted by flooding have access to safe, clean drinking water.”
The 50,000+ cans of water were sourced from Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado brewery, which alongside the Cartersville, Georgia, brewery, periodically pauses beer production to can emergency drinking water and help communities in times of disaster.
Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 97 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.
