Senior Management Changes At AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca has made the following changes to its Senior Executive Team:

-Tony Zook, Executive Vice President for North America, and President and Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca US, will assume additional responsibilities as head of the company’s Global Marketing function from May 1, 2007.
He will replace Martin Nicklasson, who served as Executive Vice President, Global Marketing for AstraZeneca. Nicklasson has resigned to become CEO and President of European biotech company, Biovitrum AB.

Zook joined Astra USA in 1997 as Vice President—Marketing and Sales. Prior to taking over as President and CEO, Zook was Senior Vice President—Commercial Operations for AstraZeneca LP, US, responsible for leading the company’s marketing and sales organizations. Zook is a member of the board of the Pennsylvania Division of the American Cancer Society.

-Tony Bloxham, Executive Vice President Human Resources (HR), will be retiring in September 2007 after a career spanning 37 years with the company.

-Lynn Tetrault will become Executive Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Affairs taking on the leadership of HR in addition to her existing responsibilities, from May 1, 2007. Tetrault has held a number of roles in HR, most recently as Vice-President HR for Global Drug Development and previously as Vice-President HR for AstraZeneca’s US business. Prior to the merger, Tetrault was Vice-President HR for Astra Pharmaceuticals. A lawyer by training, Tetrault joined the company as Associate General Counsel in 1993.
