American Express Returns to Wimbledon with New Ways to Help Fans Feel ‘Tennis Ready’ for The Championships

American Express, Official Payment Partner of The Championships, has announced its plans to welcome tennis fans back to SW19 this July, with a host of new ways to help them feel ready for Wimbledon.

To celebrate the partnership, Amex Tennis Ambassadors Andy Murray and Katie Boulter have collaborated with Amex to inspire a limited-edition zine to help fans get the most out of The Championships this year. Entitled READY, the Zine – which leans into the resurgence in popularity of print media amongst Gen Z and Millennials in the UK – is filled with hints, tips, stories and insider information on Wimbledon from the British pros. Complimentary copies will be available at Amex spaces across the grounds (while stocks last) and a digital edition will be available online at to help readers feel ready for the action whether they’re at home, on Centre Court or soaking up the atmosphere elsewhere.

Also new for this year, the Amex Pavilioni will be unveiled as the newest place to soak up the atmosphere on the iconic Hill. The space will include an exclusive spot for Card Members and guests to take in the views across Wimbledon and the London skyline. Fans will be able to get ready for the action by testing their reactions in speed games, put their tennis knowledge to the test to win exclusive prizes and stay ready and hydrated at the American Express Power Serve Bar. 

That’s not all, back for 2024 are the ever-popular Amex Radiosii providing match commentary, and the American Express Fan Experience, located in the Southern Village which returns bigger and better this year. New experiences include TopSpin Gaming Area allowing fans to test their tennis skills and massage chairs to ensure fans are relaxed before the next nail-biting match on court. Also returning is the American Express® Card Member Loungeiii in an idyllic setting with a private outdoor terrace and a number of offers for Amex Card Members using their Cards on and off-site – see below.

To further support the partnership, American Express will be launching a new above-the-line and social media campaign, encapsulating how Amex “serves” its Powerful Backing to Card Membersand fans at Wimbledon. This will include an out-of-home takeover at Wimbledon and Southfield stations, and on public transport along fans’ route to SW19. In addition, Amex is sponsoring three OOH screens in Hammersmith, Spitalfields and Piccadilly, where Wimbledon will be televised with seating to enjoy the matches”.

Brand new for this year and located on the iconic Hill, the Amex Pavilion is a new space offering all fans the opportunity to test their skills in an array of interactive games and enjoy a drinks bar on the lower level. Amex Card Members will have exclusive access to the second floor viewing platform offering unparalleled views.

  • Test Your Speed – a reactive speed game where fans can compete to join the leaderboard of top reactions

  • Exclusive Card Member Viewing Platform – Amex Card Members will have access to the viewing platform on the upper level which boasts views of the London skyline and the best views of the large screen on the Hill. There’s also a photobooth with a backdrop of the iconic All England Lawn Tennis Club & Croquet Club to help fans capture an iconic photo.

The Amex Pavilion is open to all fans at Wimbledon, 10am-9pm or 30 minutes after the last ball if the tennis finishes early.


 The American Express Fan Experience returns bigger and better for 2024, to help all visitors get more from their time at Wimbledon, it will includevi:

  • Relax and Recharge – Recharge from the action and make the most of their Wimbledon experience with massage chairs, ensuring they stay ready for the next serve on court.
  • TopSpin Gaming Area – Fans can put their skills to the test with a brand-new game in the Fan Experience, The Wimbledon eChamps. Available for up to four players, against either the computer or a friend, fans will be tested to see if they can keep their cool on Centre Court and play like one of the pros.
  • Find Andy & Centre Court Challenge – Following the popularity of this game in previous years, 2024 sees the return of the “Find Andy” game which challenges fans’ attention-to-detail as they try to find Andy Murray in a giant artwork of the Grounds. Fans can also test their accuracy under pressure with “Centre Court Challenge”, where up to four competing fans are challenged to roll tennis balls as accurately as possible to hit an on-screen target. The more accurate the roll, the more points they can score.
  • Postcard Station – Enhanced from last year, this experience will offer fans the chance to send personalised postcards to loved ones anywhere in the world, courtesy of American Express. 

The American Express Fan Experience is open to all fans at Wimbledon, 10am-9pm in Week 1 and 10am-7pm in Week 2 of The Championships.


The American Express Card Member Lounge will be back to offer all American Express Card Members an idyllic place to relax and step away from the crowds during the day at The Championships. A variety of drinks, along with a range of delicious sweet and savoury snacks will be available for purchase.

The Sipsmith Partnership continues offering Card Members and their guests a specially designed Sipsmith menu, with three bespoke cocktails, all of which can be substituted with Sipsmith FreeGlider Non-Alcoholic Spirit. Cocktails available will be a sharer cocktail and a choice of two bespoke cocktails. American Express Card Members will also receive 10% off their Sipsmith cocktails in the Card Member Lounge when they pay using their Amex Card.vii

To enter, Amex Card Members can head to the Lounge located between Courts 3 and 12. Access is provided on a first come, first served basis, subject to capacity. Card Members may obtain access by showing any valid American Express® Card, and enter with up to two guests. The lounge is open 10:30am - 7pm with last entry at 6:30pm.


Once again, American Express is offering its much sought-after complimentary radios for Card Members, to bring them closer to all the on-court action. Fans can tune-in to live commentary across the three official Wimbledon channels throughout The Championships. The radios will be available from the American Express mobile kiosks across the Grounds, as well as in the Card Member Lounge, Fan Experience and in the Queue. As in previous years, Card Members will have the option to hand their radios back at several exit gates at the end of their day, to be returned and recycled.


Amex® Card Members will also have the opportunity to receive a one-time statement credit of £20 when they cumulatively spend £140 or more onsite on their eligible American Express® Card over the course of The Championshipsviii, and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount at The Official Wimbledon Online Shop from the week before until to the week after The Championships (from Monday 24 June to Sunday 21 July).ix

The Queue, SW19

With the return of the Queue in 2024, fans waiting to enter the Grounds will have the opportunity to have their photo taken at the popular “Chair of Champions” – a Wimbledon inspired photo moment. New for 2024, fans can also visit the Amex kiosk within the Queue Village and enter a free prize draw for their chance to win Centre Court tickets.

The Hill in New York

Following the success last year, tennis fans in New York will be able to attend screenings of The Championships at The Hill in New York at BrooklynBridge Park from 12 to 14 July, with a live music performance on 12 July. During Finals weekend, American Express will offer fans special prizes from the More Machine, alongside reserved Card Member seating and other giveaways.

Amex Tennis Town, South Africa

Tennis South Africa and American Express will be hosting the Amex Tennis Town during The Championships, Wimbledon 2024. Held from 5 to 7 July and 12 to 14 July at the Montecasino in Johannesburg, the Amex Tennis Town aims to create a comprehensive fan zone that reimagines the traditional viewing experience by combining live Wimbledon screenings with a range of engaging activities and a food village which will provide a wide range of traditional favourites, like strawberries and cream.


American Express will also continue with their hugely popular ‘Last Minute Ticket’ offering this year, providing Card Members an exclusive opportunity to get hold of coveted Centre Court tickets for themselves and a friend or family member.
