Heartwarming Children’s Book About Free-Loving Firefly by Karen Kay Neuhalfen Set to Exhibit at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023
Near the end of the year, the world’s next major book fair is set to take place in Mexico: the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL). Karen Kay Neuhalfen, a children’s book author with a newly published story this year, will have her book, This Little Light of Mine,” exhibited at the event. The book shares the tale about a little firefly and the touching lesson about being a proud light that brightens everyone’s world.

The Guadalajara International Book Fair is the Americas’ largest book fair, featuring a wide variety of new books across genres. Hence, it’s one place to find the work of very new children’s book authors like Karen Kay Neuhalfen.
Neuhalfen is known more for her hits as an independent songwriter, musician, and singer. However, there was always this one story she would tell her daughters that would eventually inspire them to be their very best. Hence, she’s decided to publish it in the form of her very first children’s book titled This Little Light of Mine.
This Little Light of Mine follows a firefly named Edison who isn’t even aware of the gift he has. But by embarking on a nighttime journey, he soon discovers that he has a light that helps him and brings joy to everyone else.
Neuhalfen originally wrote this story nearly 25 years ago as a sort of love letter to her two little girls. Because much like Edison, they and everyone else has that light to share with the world and make it all the brighter. Paired with warm, colorful illustrations, she hopes the book will encourage readers around the world to keep glowing on just like her girls.
Visitors to the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair can check out This Little Light of Mine by Karen Kay Neuhalfen at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at GG38. The book fair will occur at the Expo Guadalajara Convention Center, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, from November 25 to December 3, 2023. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Walmart.
