Karen Kay Neuhalfen’s children’s book “This Little Light of Mine” tells the story of a firefly named Edison. Edison is not aware that he can glow until he embarks on a special journey. Through his journey, Edison learns how his light could help him and bring joy not only to himself but also to everyone around him.

Fireflies are nocturnal beetles that often goes unnoticed until nighttime. But as soon as their abdomen begins to glow, they transform into magical-looking creatures. Fireflies remind everyone who sees them that each person shines their own unique light, even in the darkness. Also, it reminds people that the simple and small things in life matter the most.

In addition to being an author, Karen is an independent singer, songwriter, and musician. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She was part of a musical family. Her father taught her piano before she was ten.

Karen wrote “This Little Light of Mine” as a love letter for her two daughters, Paige and Lauren. Her daughters shared the story with their classmates and friends over the years. Now, they are sharing “This Little Light of Mine” all over the world. Paige and Lauren grew up believing in themselves and determined to pave their ways in life. Karen hopes to inspire others to do the same.

“This Little Light of Mine” is illustrated with brilliant illustrations. Karen aims that Edison’s special message will leave readers with a heartwarming positive feeling. In the book, she shows her readers that each person has a light or a gift to share with the world.
