“Imagine a synthesis of Mr. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson on clinical rounds with you… NEUROLOGY ROUNDS is engaging as a page-turner, drawing us into medical puzzles and then teaching how to solve them.” – Richard T. Hull, Ph.D., Professor of Philosophy Emeritus, University at Buffalo

The book “Neurology Rounds with the Maverick: Adventures with Patients from the Golden Age of Medicine” by Bernard M. Patten will be exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023. The fantastic event will be held on April 22-23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

The L.A. Times Festival of Books is a yearly outdoor event in the heart of California, attracting approximately 150,000 attendees. ReadersMagnet will be exhibiting at the event for the third time. To make their third visit more exciting and memorable, the company will set up a larger booth, provide more exciting activities, and display more books.

Neurology Rounds with the Maverick tells the adventures and misadventures of Dr. Patten throughout his thirty-four medical career as a clinical neurologist in the form of a memoir. This book also details the author’s most entertaining and unusual experiences with his patients.

Aside from the author’s experiences, readers will get a glimpse of reality during the golden age of medicine. This was the time when the most complex, strange, and fascinating neurological cases were prevalent, especially when Dr. Patten himself had interactions with the famous physicist Stephen Hawking, who was in the middle of his experimental ALS treatment, and artist George Rodrigue, who had lost his memory.
