Author Bio
Timothy M. Siggia, better known as Tim, was born on February 3, 1945, in Hartford, Connecticut. He grew up in East Hartford and attended what was then known as Central Connecticut State College, intending to teach English after graduation. He dropped out of college and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967, leaving for recruit training in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Tim advanced from Seaman Recruit to Radioman Second Class, paygrade E-5. In 1981, he earned a lateral conversion of ratings from Radioman First Class to Journalist First Class, both paygrade E-6.

Tim retired from the Navy in March of 1991 with a service record that included service aboard six Navy ships and a roughly equal number of shore states. He is a member of the American Legion Post 77, American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 18, Vietnam Veterans of America Connecticut Chapter 120, the Fleet Reserve Association, and the Navy League of the United States.
