Sharon Traner’s “Texas Ice” was showcased by self-publishing company ReadersMagnet at the successfully concluded New York Library Association (NYLA) 2022 Annual Conference. Held last November 3-5 in Saratoga Springs, New York, the event attracted a large gathering of librarians, trustees, academics, authors, and book lovers, all showing up to support the New York library community.

The NYLA 2022 was considered the largest library conference held on the East Coast, with special programs and exhibitions geared toward advancing the library community and services. Sharon Traner is a retired nurse, a mother to eight children, and a grandmother to twelve grandchildren. Sharon has watched her sons and grandsons play ice hockey for over thirty-five years while sitting high up over Midwest ice skating rinks. Her love for the sport led her to write the compelling “Texas Ice” novel, and she dedicates this book to the local Milwaukee youth organization players and their parents and coaches, who taught her the game’s fun, joy, and beauty.
