Sharon Traner’s “Texas Ice” was showcased by self-publishing company ReadersMagnet at the successfully concluded New York Library Association (NYLA) 2022 Annual Conference. Held last November 3-5 in Saratoga Springs, New York, the event attracted a large gathering of librarians, trustees, academics, authors, and book lovers, all showing up to support the New York library community.

The NYLA 2022 was considered the largest library conference held on the East Coast, with special programs and exhibitions geared toward advancing the library community and services. Sharon Traner’s sports fiction masterpiece “Texas Ice” was part of the NYLA’s book display program, joining other prestigious authors and their books.

“Texas Ice” follows the story of Jake Newman, a fifteen-year-old runaway. This coming-of-age novel describes how a teenager, having no life goals or ambition, suddenly found his passion in the form of ice hockey. Jake becomes obsessed with the sport, to the point of fooling everyone around him into thinking he has played hockey his whole life. And while Jake struggles with this deception, he finds himself at odds and at risk of losing the only thing that matters in his life.

The author is no stranger to the sport. Having watched over her sons and grandsons playing ice hockey for over thirty-five years, Sharon Traner has developed a knowledge and love for the game that readers can feel throughout the pages of “Texas Ice.”

“Texas Ice” is a story of an underdog and persistence and self-discovery. It is a story about believing in a dream and doing what it takes to achieve it.

Immerse in the world of a competitive ice sport, and join Jake as he sets out to fulfill his passion and mission in life. Grab a copy of Sharon Traner’s “Texas Ice” on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
