“Once you read this book, you will never think of the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo – or even the Italian Renaissance – in the same way again.” Clay Fulghum (Amazon Customer Review)

The book display for Tarpley Jones’ book “The Pope’s Man” book display was successful as hundreds of guests at the New York Library Association (NYLA) 2022 Annual Conference & Trade Show turnout to view the thrilling historical fiction. Self-publishing company ReadersMagnet initiated the novel’s exhibit alongside other distinguished books at the event last November 3-4, 2022.

Held at the Saratoga Springs City Center, New York, the NYLA 2022 was considered the most significant gathering for a library conference on the East Coast, drawing in hundreds of participants from the library and academic sector, including the general public. The library conference was aimed at promoting the advancement of New York’s library community with programs, special events, and book exhibitions, including the display of the latest and most innovative products and services.

Tarpley Jones’ “The Pope’s Man” joined the book exhibition, contributing its superbly written research and plot with other illustrious published works. “The Pope’s Man” is set in 16th-century Rome, at the height of the Renaissance era, that produced some of the world’s renowned artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo.

The plot follows the journey of devout Franciscan friar Francesco della Rovere, a relative and the most trusted legate of Pope Julius II. The Pope tasked Rovere to bring a disgruntled Michelangelo back to Rome as part of the Pope’s plan to rebuild St. Peter’s Basilica and for the beautification of the Sistine Chapel. Rovere was also assigned the guardianship of the Pope’s daughter, Felice. Suddenly, the friar finds himself entangled in the web of explosive drama, politics, feud, and violence, with only his wit and will carrying him through to survive.

“The Pope’s Man” is a powerful novel against the backdrop of Renaissance art and the glory of the Eternal City. Readers will delight at the meticulous research and groundwork that Tarpley Jones put into the novel’s characters, plot, and conspiracies.
