Stephen Reger to Hold a Book Signing Event at the 2023 LibLearnX for “Stormfront: Book One of the Stormsong Trilogy”

ReadersMagnet will feature Stephen Reger’s “Stormfront: Book One of the Stormsong Trilogy” at the 2023 LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience on January 28-30, 2023, to be held at New Orleans Earnest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana.

“Stormfront” is the first installment of Stephen Reger’s epic Stormsong trilogy. This historical fantasy story is set in Central Europe during the Thirty Years’ War of the seventeenth century. This was the time when the Holy Roman Empire was ruled by the weak and incapable second son of Maximillian II, Emperor Matthias. Although the entire realm of German states is ruled by Matthias, the real strength of the Holy Roman Empire lies in the hands of the strong and influential von Stormsong family, headed by the power hungry Archduke Johann Albrecht von Stormsong.

This epic tale of power and treachery began when Frederick Barbarossa summoned the incredibly powerful and secretive German family, the Stormsongs, to Saint Peter’s Basilica in 1155. It was that moment when Barbarossa granted them a hereditary title as “truest protectors of faith and empire”.

Centuries have passed, and the Stormsongs have faithfully, and quite violently, defended the Catholic Church, the Holy Roman Empire, and the German monarchy against all enemies. Lady Atlantis Vanessa von Stormsong, the only child of Archduke von Stormsong, has been sent out to carry out the tasks that her father entrusted to her - namely, to kill off “Satan’s servants,” who are the Bohemian Protestants, heretic rebels, and practitioners of dark arts. Her sharp fighting skills and special ability of supernatural healing made her the perfect person to carry out the difficult task of her Machiavellian father.

Within this heated political climate, Šarlatová, a poor Protestant thief, attempts to save her adopted family of outlaws from the growing Catholic threat. Just like Vanessa, Šarlatová has been blessed (or cursed) with supernatural powers, but she struggles to understand and control them. These two completely different women will soon share the same fate and pursue the same destiny. But will they ever achieve it knowing that there is a storm brewing that could soon tear Europe apart for the next thirty years?

After teaching American, World, and European history for thirty years, Stephen A. Reger is spending his retirement writing about what the history textbooks have left out. Stormfront is his debut novel. He currently teaches American Literature in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he resides with his wife, Amy, and his two sons, Jacob and Caleb.
