This year is a year for lovers of literature. The successful conclusion of two book events, the ReadersMagnet Book Confab in Tribeca, New York, last October 28-30, 2022, and the New York Library Association 2022 Annual Conference & Trade Show last November 3-4, 2022, at the Saratoga Springs City Center, New York, were at a record attendance high. The two events witnessed the largest gathering of academics, writers, and readers in one venue, supporting the librarian community and book lovers in all shapes and sizes.

“In the Volume: My Life in Film and TV,” actor Alex Hyde-White’s memoir joined the outstanding line-up of books that were given special exhibitions during the said events, allowing participants to see the actor’s colorful illustrated book.

The book gives the readers a look into the actor’s life from behind the camera, on and off the silver screen, also featuring an era of one of the most transformational periods in film and television history. The memoir describes the actor’s early years, growing up in England, moving to Palm Springs in the 1960s, and how he got started in the Hollywood business.

His acting career started at 19 at Universal Studios, and he took off with some Broadway acting and got his first leading roles in England and Europe. Some famous films and TV series Hyde-White has been involved with include “Pretty Woman,” “Fantastic Four” (1994), “Nope,” “Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” “Reasonable Doubt,” “Catch Me If You Can,” and 1989’s “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”

Alex, also known as Punch to his family and friends, is a father of two adult sons and an avid tennis player. The actor is also a former (celebrity) professional golfer.
