Semiconductor Insights Announces Launch Of 2007 INSIGHT Awards

OTTAWA, CANADA -- Semiconductor Insights (SI), the leader in technical and patent analyses of integrated circuits and electronic systems, today announced the launch of the 2007 INSIGHT Awards program. “The INSIGHT Awards recognize technical firsts and bests based on SI’s recent analyses of some 1500 different devices,” stated Jenn Markey, SI’s VP of Marketing. “Now in its 7th year, the Awards program continues to gain industry traction and is a coveted Award by design and engineering teams around the globe. Select winners are showcased in an SI authored article in EETimes.”

SI sponsors the INSIGHT Awards in conjunction with Semico Research. SI’s Chief Technology Officer, Edward Keyes, chairs the Awards judging panel, which also includes Patrick Mannion, Managing Editor, TechOnline Network. Past winners have included Micron’s advanced 95nm 6F2 SDRAM cell design, TI’s first integrated RF and baseband on a single chip solution, and AMD’s 65nm silicon on insulator (SOI) processor. This year there are eight categories including the Dr. Doug Smeaton Innovation Award in memoriam of SI’s President and CEO who passed away unexpectedly last month. The 2007 INSIGHT Award categories are:


- Most Innovative Display Driver
- Most Innovative Image Sensor
- Most Innovative Baseband and/or Applications Processor
- Most Innovative RF IC
- Most Innovative DRAM
- Most Innovative Non-Volatile Memory
- Most Innovative Process Technology
- Dr. Doug Smeaton Innovation Award
