Colorado Springs, CO: February 19, 2007. The GoodBye Chain Group (GCG) is pleased to announce that its MDW/1752 database software has been named the winner of SMT Magazine’s 2007 Vision Award in the Software category. GCG received the award in recognition of product innovation and excellence:

MDW/1752 software supports global RoHS-like legislation and the IPC Standard 1752 format. The program helps companies get up-and-running with a RoHS-related database in hours instead of days. MDW/1752 is a Windows-based application that any user can install without IT support. It provides the same functionality as much larger systems at 5–10% of the cost. It has an intuitive user interface, comprehensive Help, and a RoHS ‘encyclopedia’ of compliance information.

Component manufacturers use MDW/1752 to aggregate substance and material data. Contract manufacturers use MDW/1752 to roll-up information from suppliers and to provide sophisticated reports to their most demanding customers. Other customers use MDW/1752 as a low cost, easy to implement ‘material declaration management front-end’ for existing PLM and ERP systems.

At a celebratory dinner at APEX this evening in Los Angeles, SMT will present the Award to GCG. “Winning this award is a testimony to our extraordinary development team. It is also a testimony to our many installed customers who use MDW/1752 on a daily basis to analyze and cleanse full disclosure parts data, determine substance level part risk, and to create material declaration audit trails. These features give our customers a competitive advantage as they head into 2007, which we believe is proving to be “The Year of Full-Disclosure PPM Data”, said Jim Dills, Managing Director of GCG.

MDW/1752 allows companies to collect supplier data or to import purchased data from third-party firms such as GCG’s US reseller, PartMiner, Inc. GCG also has resellers in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

MDW/1752 web-based demos are held weekly on Tuesdays at 1 PM EST/10 AM PST. To participate, please contact MDW Customer Service at 888-422-4246, X89.
