SEALECT Tuna launches limited edition products with Doraemon

This is the first collaboration between a canned tuna product and classic Japanese anime


Thai Union’s SEALECT Tuna brand has launched a limited edition series of canned tuna with packaging design featuring Doraemon, the famous Japanese manga series. The launch coincided with the release of The Movie: Standby Me Doraemon 2, which was distributed in Thailand by M Pictures, and allows fans of this time-travelling cat robot to enjoy this memorable limited collection.

Saran Rattanarungruengchai, General Manager - Emerging Markets at Thai Union Group PCL, said: “The limited edition of ‘SEALECT Tuna x Stand by Me Doraemon 2’ commemorates the 50th anniversary of Doraemon, which was first launched in 1970. Together with M Pictures, the official distributor of the movie, we are celebrating the 50th birthday of this memorable classic cartoon that has passed down the happiness, family and friendship from generation to generation. The special edition of SEALECT tuna comes in three designs of Doraemon, Nobita and Shizuka, turning the canned tuna into rare collector’s items.”

The SEALECT Tuna x Stand by Me Doraemon 2 is now available in a 165g can at leading supermarkets and 7-11 stores in Thailand. Customers can choose from sandwich tuna in brine or mineral water at a cost of THB36, or tuna steak in soybean oil for THB39. SEALECT Tuna is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, and contains 0% trans fat, preservatives or monosodium glutamate.
