SAN FRANCISCO (March 18, 2021)Fivestars, an integrated payment processing and marketing platform powering the largest local commerce network in the U.S., today announced its adoption of PAX Technology, Inc’s A920 terminals. This third-party card payment terminal will now enable the company to leverage proven hardware technology for more than 14,000 merchants across the U.S., reaching more than 65 million consumers.

By leveraging the mobile payment terminal of PAX Technology, the fastest-growing electronic payment solution provider in the world, merchants using Fivestars can now facilitate new operations during a critical time as businesses seek out solutions to help rebound from the effects of the pandemic. By utilizing the A920 terminals, merchants can streamline and simplify processes by offering consumers a convenient and secure way to make payments, at the counter, curbside, or on-the-go. Contactless solutions can also reduce the potential spread of germs to provide a safer and speedier checkout experience.

The A920 terminal’s high-quality design seamlessly powers all merchant payment transactions with a high-speed thermal printer and high-capacity battery that work to meet the all-encompassing needs of Fivestars’ merchant network. With the new terminals, Fivestars is expanding access to fintech solutions so that virtually any merchant, whether they have a storefront or not, can use the device from anywhere to accept payments. Additionally, on the PAX A920, merchants will now have the option to transfer card processing fees to customers.

“Small businesses need to embrace new technology to keep up with consumer expectations in 2021, said Matt Doka, co-founder of Fivestars. “Our goal at Fivestars is to bring the best solutions to our merchants. With PAX, this is possible. We’re excited to help our merchants carry out their day-to-day operations more efficiently.”

The news comes off the heels of Fivestars’ $52.5M Series D announcement in October, after the company powered more than $3B in sales and saw a 50% year-over-year increase in payment volume.

Later this year, Fivestars plans to release additional products that will bring the full capabilities of its marketing automation platform to the PAX A920 hardware. For more information about Fivestars and its product offerings, visit www.fivestars.com/products/
