International launch of roosimages, a unique, high quality, large format, stock image bank.

AMSTERDAM, 23 May 2005, A new, internet image bank, specializing in large format, high quality images from some of the best photographers in the world, has just opened for business.

Founded by world-renowned fashion photographer, Jerome Esch and international photographers’ agent, Peter Sterling; roosimages represents quality, not quantity. Unique, unexpected imagery instead of the clichés delivered by the larger image banks.

From fashion and people, to creative landscapes, cityscapes and abstracts, 80% of the roosimages library is shot on larger format cameras and scanned at up to 200mb, offering image definition unheard of in the stock world. Most web-based agencies still work, for the majority, with 35mm.

The roosimages site architecture gives professionals unprecedented information about every image: source film-format, grain structure, and a series viewer. “Quality-wise, we start where most other agencies stop. You could cover a wall with any of our images.” Said Jerome Esch, Creative Director for roosimages. “It’s a joy to see so much great contemporary photography being showcased at last.”
