At AB InBev, we are determined to build a company to last, but we know we can only do that with a healthy natural environment and thriving communities. As the world’s leading brewer, we remain firmly committed to creating a better world aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through our 2025 Sustainability Goals, our most ambitious set of public commitments yet, we aim to create measurable positive impact, drive growth and improve livelihoods across our entire value chain—from our growers and retailers to our consumers and their communities.

AB InBev 2025 Sustainability Goals

Since 2017, we have improved our water efficiency by nearly 10% and energy efficiency by 6%. We have also contracted 60% of our global electricity volume from renewable sources. More than 40% of our volume is in returnable packaging and we’re committed to improving the recycled content of our primary packaging. We have also reduced our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in our operations by more than 13%. And we’re working with tens of thousands of farmers around the world to ensure they’re skilled, connected and financially empowered.

But we can’t do it alone. As we look to transition to a low-carbon economy, improve watershed health and biodiversity, and create more equitable supply chains, we have a real opportunity to collaborate with our suppliers to design for resilience and co-invest in innovation.

That’s why we’ve launched Eclipse – our new supplier collaboration platform designed to advance climate action, circular packaging, water stewardship and smart agriculture – at pace and at scale.

Eclipse brings our vast network of suppliers and partners together to collaborate and make progress on our shared sustainability goals. First-of-its-kind in the beverage industry, the platform offers educational webinars and workshops with sector experts, and provides opportunities to share best practices. Recent supplier collaborations have led to the introduction of alternative fuel delivery trucks, and eco-friendly coolers in every zone where AB InBev operates worldwide.

Earlier this year, in support of Anheuser-Busch’s Better World strategy, Bud Light – the official beer of the NFL – presented football fans with the first-ever aluminum cup at Super Bowl LIV. Working in partnership with container manufacturer Ball Corporation, we developed 50,000 infinitely recyclable aluminum cups to reduce single-use plastic and waste during this year’s big game.

Other suppliers that have already joined Eclipse include Ardagh, OI, Rio Tinto, International Paper, Iberdrola,  ValFilm, BYD, Nikola, San Carlos, CanPack, Novozymes, ADM and more.

If you are an AB InBev supplier or partner, on this World Environment Day, we invite you to join us on Eclipse to share your commitment to better world and the great strides you’re making towards sustainability!
