IFA 2020: Turkey emerges as a major player at IFA Global Markets

With literally thousands of electronics manufacturing plants in Turkey and dozens of major R&D centres the nation is further emerging as a key player at IFA – this time at IFA Global Markets.

Following the keynotes at IFA over past years by leading Turkish players, it’s hardly surprising that this year, for the first time, a number of Turkish manufacturers will participate in IFA Global Markets - on a total space of 180sqm.

IFA Global Markets at STATION-Berlin is the central international sourcing platform of IFA for OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer), ODMs (Original Design Manufacturer), suppliers, component manufacturers and yet undiscovered brands from all over the world. In 2020 IFA Global Markets celebrates its fifth anniversary.

The B2B marketplace has established itself as the most important sourcing platform for consumer and home electronics and digital products in Europe. Trade visitors from the manufacturing, production, importation, distribution, purchasing and trade sectors travel to Berlin for the event from all over the world. 

Between 2016 and 2019, the number of exhibitors and rented space at IFA Global Markets has more than doubled. Last year, the event attracted 780 exhibitors.

Turkey – a rising star in electronics

Turkey benefits from a geostrategic location as a hub connecting Europe and MENA. Consumer electronics and appliances make up by far the most important subsector in the country’s electronics manufacturing industry.

The focus of these Turkish manufacturers is on home appliances. ADF Built-in Appliances, for example, are one of the leading OEM suppliers of upper-middle and top class built-in cooker hoods and hobs from Turkey, and holds ISO 9001: 2015, TÜV, GS Mark and CE certificates. Elleti is also a producer of built-in kitchen products such as hobs, ovens and hoods. All companies boast very high quality standards, and continue to grow as part of the home appliance ecosystem in Europe and around the globe.
