WEBWIRE

Formula 1® has announced the launch of the Official Formula 1 Magazine, a brand-new lifestyle title which will serve a passionate, global audience. Every month, the magazine will offer unrivalled access to the heroes of the sport, with in-depth interviews, exclusives, strong opinion and intelligent summaries. The magazine will also feature stunning photography that encapsulates the world’s most glamorous sport.

The magazine will be the go-to-guide for what’s happening in the world of Formula 1, covering the entire spectrum of the sport – from a global perspective – to both the armchair fan and race-going spectator. Accessible for all ages, new-comers and experts alike, the magazine will provide insight into races before and after they occur whilst celebrating the sport’s glorious 70-year history and looking ahead to the exciting future in the world of Esports.

Issue 1 of the new F1 Magazine will preview the 2020 season and features every team, driver and circuit. Readers will be able to delve into the thoughts of Haas F1 Team driver Kevin Magnussen in his new monthly column, as well as peruse features from the very best writers in the sport. Issue 1 also has an exclusive interview with Ross Brawn, Formula 1’s Managing Director of Motorsports, while F1’s Technical Director Pat Symonds answers fans technical queries.

Elsewhere in the issue, The Times’s motor racing correspondent Rebecca Clancy analyses the relationship between Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, The Guardian’s Giles Richards gives his thoughts on Lewis Hamilton’s potential record-breaking season and the former deputy sports editor of The Observer, Oliver Owen, explains how the teams pack-up their cars to travel the 10,500 miles to the first race of the season. Acclaimed journalist Luis Vasconcelos also interviews Robert Kubica, who explains why he’s sticking around in Formula 1 and F1’s newest rookie, Nicholas Latifi, shares his thoughts on the forthcoming season.

It also doesn’t stop there, as there will be reports from all the major team launches as well as testing, as the new cars for the 2020 season hit the track for the first time. There will also be a chance to look ahead to the opening races in both Australia and Bahrain.

“We can’t wait for the new season to start and the first issue of the new Official Formula 1 Magazine will be the perfect guide to another brilliant year of racing,” said editor James Roberts, who has been working in Formula 1 since 2004 and was the associate editor of F1 Racing for the past 12 years. “This new monthly magazine will become a must-read for every avid Formula 1 fan,” he added.

The Official Formula 1 Magazine is licensed through Formula 1 and Issue 1 will be available in UK stores and worldwide online through https://thef1magazine.com/ on  4 March, 2020
