"Awards have been important for so many reasons."

European Executive Creative Director at AKQA, Peter Lund, brings a unique perspective to the work he does across design, product, services and storytelling. Prior to joining AKQA, he served Ogilvy & Mather and has worked with some of the most recognisable brands in the world, including Nike, Google, Chanel, Hérmes, Airbnb, Disney, Red Bull and Oakley. In 2011, Peter spearheaded the opening of the 10th AKQA office in Paris, where he leads the creative department.

With wins in both the Young Lions Media Competition and the AKQA Future Lions Competition to his name before he’d graduated, Peter’s continued success at the Festival has been a defining part of his early career.

“Awards have been important for so many reasons. I aspire to do the best work in our industry and for that you need to set a goal.” Peter Lund, European Executive Creative Director, AKQA

A Penguin’s Tale

Work that set the pace

After a shortlist in the Future Lions Competition in his first year of university, Peter was hungry for more. Back at the Festival to compete again the following two years, he and his team won in the Future Lions for their work on a project for Penguin Books and later in the Young Lions Media Competition for a piece of work in response to a brief from NGO Peace One Day.

“With Cannes Lions last year, we won an award for an Oakley project – a storytelling piece that really transformed the way that Oakley has communicated for many years, really broadening their audience.” Peter Lund, European Executive Creative Director, AKQA

A Silver Lion for ‘It’s OK’

Peter reached new heights in his journey with the Festival back in 2019 when he took home a Silver Lion for his work on ‘It’s OK’. ‘It’s OK’ is an intimate, yet grand musical expression of the powerful feelings and passionate sacrifices that go into great sporting achievements for sports performance and lifestyle brand, Oakley.
