WEBWIRE

The Academy is the perfect place to experience the diversity of having people from 32 countries working together while developing your professional skills. It teaches you the value of having great ideas coming from totally different contexts and how this helps to make more inclusive work… -Sofía Murillo, Data Marketing Analyst, Florida Ice & Farm Co. & RHSA 2019

The Roger Hatchuel Student Academy was founded in 2003. Delivered in partnership with Google Creative Campus for the third year running in 2020, the student academy is a six-day programme that takes place over the week of the Festival. It is designed to help students interested in pursuing a creative path in advertising launch their careers.

Last year, we welcomed 38 students from across 32 countries, a record number of countries represented in the classroom. This year, local Cannes Lions Representatives will nominate and fund 35 students and Google Creative Campus will sponsor 5 - 10 students to attend the academy.

We’re delighted to be able to announce our selection panel for 2020: the people tasked with choosing the students who will join us the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy. Inclusivity is a pillar of the academy, and we go to great lengths to ensure the diversity of our selection panel across intersections, geography and career backgrounds. In turn, we’re confident that our panel of global industry experts will ensure that a diverse group of talent from across the globe joins us in June.

We also welcome 2019 alum, Sofía Murillo, to our selection panel – a key decision in line with our commitment to championing the future of the industry and providing talent with opportunities like this one.

Online judging will take place in March, with students selected by the panel to be announced at the beginning of April.
