It is what consumers are looking for. As a company, we have a responsibility to move forward according to trends and seek to improve service, product and innovation every day.

2019 has been a year of great achievements for Betcris, a subsidiary of TV Global Enterprises (TVGE). The bookmaker closed a sponsorship agreement with a Mexican soccer team in a market in which it has been operating since 2006, and signed former Barcelona soccer player and Brazilian world champion, Ronaldinho, as its brand ambassador. In addition, the operator has been nominated for an SBC award alongside companies such as Adjarabet, Dafabet and Parimatch. As it continues to expand, the sky’s the limit, and TVGE’s business development manager, Fernando Garita, recently sat down with SBC News to discuss what’s in store for 2020.

Betcris can already be found in a number of Latin American countries, including Mexico, Panama, Argentina, Nicaragua and others, and will be expanding into new territories throughout the coming year. Helping to achieve that goal will be a concentration on more online casino offerings, and Garita explains, “We have decided to make changes aimed at generating new alliances and integrations with some of the main international gaming providers in order to relaunch our casino product. We hope you are ready for the first months of next year.”

Betcris had focused on sports gambling since its inception 13 years ago. However, as consumerism changes, businesses have to be ready to respond to new demands. In the gaming world, this means more online casino offerings. Garita states, “It is what consumers are looking for. As a company, we have a responsibility to move forward according to trends and seek to improve service, product and innovation every day.”

Mexico is the largest market for Betcris and is where the company controls one of the largest market shares. TVGE and Betcris are aware of changes coming to how the industry is regulated in the country and are well-prepared for the transition. The executive adds that he hopes that “the regulatory processes that have been launched in many Latin American jurisdictions will lead Mexico to take action to position itself as a regional leader.”

Argentina is a key market, as well, and Betcris is currently hoping to secure one of seven online gaming licenses offered by the Lottery and Casino Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires. There’s still competition against Codere, William Hill and The Stars Group, but Garita points out that the company’s history and reputation give it additional strength to be considered as a top contender.

Brazil and other countries are also on the radar, depending on how the regulatory situation plays out. Regardless, Garita is optimistic about the future and states that there is “a world of possibilities and game trends for which we must prepare. As regulatory processes advance in the region, Betcris continues to focus on improving the experience of its users and strengthening its international presence.” He adds, “2020 will be a year of great advancement.
