Team Jumbo-Visma wins its first Grand Tour with Primoz Roglic taking first place in Vuelta a España

La Vuelta a España set off on Costa Blanca, and finished in Madrid. A strong team backing a superior Roglic throughout the 21 stages of the race, led Team-Jumbo Visma to victory in the Spanish capital.

“I am proud of the team and the way we have fought in the past three weeks. Everyone has given 110 percent, and that also gave me extra motivation to fully go for it. I am relieved that we have been able to bring this to a close successfully. Now we are going to enjoy it, and then we will focus on our next goals" said Rogliz after finishing the race.

Managing Director of Team Jumbo-Visma, Richard Plugge, mentions the win as the best result his team has ever achieved. “A victory in a grand tour is the highest achievement. This is the best victory in the team’s existence so far. The team was very strong, and Primoz got the best out of everyone. That is why we always emphasise winning together,” he said.

Team Jumbo-Visma has finished on the podium in every Grand Tour this year. Earlier this summer, Rogliz finished third the Giro d’Italia and Steven Kruijswijk came third in the Tour de France. Visma and CEO Øystein Moan have watched the team closely, and is very impressed with the latest win.
