New Book on The Resurrection of Jesus Christ according to Pontius Pilate

The trial, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ count among one of the most renowned events of Western Civilization. The Bible describes these events and they have been discussed by theologians, historians, religious leaders, and philosophers throughout modern history. One might venture to say that there is nothing more to say about the events that led to the birth of Christianity.

However, Sean Garrett, in his book, “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ,” demonstrates that there are still aspects of the final days of Jesus Christ, that need to be explored. Garrett depicts the trial of Jesus from the point of view of Pontius Pilate, the man who condemned Jesus to death, and who suffered greatly from the consequences of his decision. By describing the trial through the eyes of Pilate, Garrett reveals the governor’s reluctance to sentence Christ to death and examines the reasons for why he finally agreed to Jesus’ execution. Garrett also introduces another narrator to describe the events, the secret Apostle, Nicodemus, who actually testified for Jesus at his trial. Using Pilate and Nicodemus as narrators, Garrett takes his reader into the contentious events of Jesus Christ’s trial, death, and resurrection, but presents the events in a new and fascinating light. With Pilate as the tragic protagonist of the story, Garrett follows up the events of the trial with the impact Pilate’s decision had on his life, as he attempts to rationalize the reality of the aftermath of his actions to sentence Jesus to death.

Sean Garrett has an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Philosophy from California State University Los Angeles. He has taught Philosophy at Long Beach City College and is currently working as an 8th-grade algebra teacher in Los Angeles. “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ” is his first literary publication.
