Cannes Lions and 42 Courses launch new online courses to extend year-round learning opportunities

Cannes Lions, in partnership with digital learning provider 42 Courses, has announced the launch of new online courses, delivered by some of the industry’s most distinguished creative experts.


The suite of courses, which focus on the fundamentals of creative marketing, can be accessed via the Cannes Lions learning portal. The first course, entitled Storytelling, provides tools and techniques for users to bring stories to life. It launched online in April 2019. It is now joined by two new courses: Behavioural Science for Brands, which focuses on how to influence audiences to love your brand and buy products, and Creativity for Business, a course which explains the fundamental role creativity plays in business growth.

Each course is certified and presents bite-sized lessons with examples of Lion-winning work to provide tangible, practical skills, alongside video clips and insights from industry leaders.

Storytelling features experts including: Keith Reinhard (Chairman Emeritus, DDB); Rory Sutherland (Ogilvy UK Vice-Chairman; Debbi Vandeven (Global chief creative officer at VMLY&R) and Gabriela Lungu (Founder, WINGS Creative Leadership Lab).

Behavioural Science for Brands is delivered with thought-leadership insights from experts including: Tara Austin, Chief Strategy Officer at Kindred; Cristina Balanzó Ph.D., Consultancy Director / Board Member of Walnut Unlimited; and Richard Shotton, author of The Choice Factory; alongside team members from WARC, the world-leading authority of marketing effectiveness.

Creativity for Business features some of the globe’s most influential creative leaders, including: Ben Jones, Creative Director of Google; Sir Martin Sorrell, Executive Chairman of S4 Capital; Rei Inamoto, founding partner of IxCO (formerly Inamoto & Co); and Nick Farnhill, CEO of Publicis Poke.
