“With its advanced technology, Fujifilm’s SUPERIA ZD fits our messaging and corporate leadership practice of maintaining the most sustainable form of communication available in the world. We are a leader in the printing industry, and SUPERIA ZD aligns accordingly.”

Hanover Park, Ill., March 12, 2019 – Salem One has evolved into one of the largest and fastest growing packaging, direct marketing, print and logistics companies in the Southeast.   This high-growth corporate communications company is aimed at additional success and efficiencies with its recent switch to Fujifilm’s SUPERIA ZD, a true no-process thermal plate making technology.

“Our previous plate making technology had run its course,” said Philip Kelley Jr., President, Salem One. “We launched a 90 day testing process, and reviewed three different plate making options. In addition to quality and new technology integration, the ongoing service relationship expectation with the plate manufacturer was a major part of the decision; organizational and service strength had to be there for us to make a final decision. Through this process a front-runner clearly emerged, and we were very pleased to select Fujifilm as our new printing plate provider along with its SUPERIA ZD technology. The process-less plate technology was highly desired as we no longer maintain the cost of additional consumables or the management responsibility for effluent disposal. Salem one has been a long-time supporter of sustainability, therefore the elimination all chemicals in our plate-making process is viewed as a completed goal.”

Salem One is the largest independently-owned print-based corporate communication companies headquartered in North and South Carolina; and one of the top 15 in the Southeast. Additionally, Salem One is one of only a small group of companies in the U.S. to achieve and maintain the Level 3 G7 Master Certification across offset, flexo and digital print production. It produces award-winning output, and improves business results for leading regional and national corporations, including well-known brands in a variety of segments such as retail shopping, dining, athletic apparel, furniture, and banking/finance.

“With SUPERIA ZD we have the ability to run tens of thousands of sheets with tremendous durability while maintaining the crispness of the image, without worry of a degradation image through the run,” says Kelley. “Obviously that leads to wonderful results for the client. With our previous plate making system we were using many sets of plates, along with the obvious waste, and quality check requirements.”
Continues Kelley, “With its advanced technology, Fujifilm’s SUPERIA ZD fits our messaging and corporate leadership practice of maintaining the most sustainable form of communication available in the world. We are a leader in the printing industry, and SUPERIA ZD aligns accordingly.”

Made in the U.S.A.
SUPERIA ZD plates are manufactured at Fujifilm’s facility in Greenwood, South Carolina, where more than 200 Fujifilm associates contribute to the overall plate manufacturing process, from original coils of aluminum alloy, through coating and final packaging.

SUPERIA ZD plates are made with Fujifilm’s proprietary multigrain technology, applying a complex grain structure, consisting of primary grains, honeycomb grains and micropores, to an aluminum support. This multigrain structure produces a synergistic effect that results in outstanding printing efficiency. The key performance feature improvement for SUPERIA ZD is the ability to print UV ink conditions and also provide improved run length in non-UV ink environments.
