A Life Weaved with Heartaches and Momentary Glories

Young woman journeying through the tracks of World War II

The 70th anniversary of the highly acclaimed international book fair, 2018 Frankfurt Book Fair, will feature Maria Woelful’s poignant true story, Maria, Gypsy Princess, from October 10-14, 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. The memoir talks about an untold story that is unique in joys, fears, and tears weaved altogether into a young girl’s life during the Second World War.

Woelful’s Maria, Gypsy Princess puts the perspective of young Maria in focus as the world’s untamed cruelty tore her family apart. Like a gypsy, she wandered as the raging war roared on. She was reunited with her family in 1948, before ending up in the safe shores of America (North Dakota).

Grab the opportunity to experience the World-War-II-never-before-told story in the upcoming Frankfurt Book Fair.

About the Author
Maria Reule Woelfl lives in Indian Wells, CA since 1972. After her husband, Robert, passed away in 1986, she was lost and in great pain. To relieve some of her grief, she started to write. It was a short story about her husband and how she fell into the pit of despair on Bob’s final days. When her son, David, died in 1992 of cancer, she once again resorted to the writing to relieve her pain and sorrow. Writing is therapeutic for Maria. Her life is riddled with great pain and distress. The happy times started when she married Her Prince Robert—happiness just wasn’t long enough.
