EDB - Spring Consulting and SAP enter into unique Nordic collaboration

WEBWIRE

(Oslo, 31 October 2006) Spring Consulting and SAP have agreed to establish a unique Nordic collaboration that will give customers access to new solutions and pave the way for a significant reduction in lifetime cost for SAP systems. “We can achieve sizeable reductions in lifetime cost by optimising the entire value chain”, comments Johnny Rindahl, Head of the Nordic region at Spring Consulting.
Nordic customers are looking for a supplier capable of taking on responsibility for everything involved in a SAP project, from design and implementation through to systems operations and management of SAP solutions.
“We are working in a new environment with new demands from customers, and Spring Consulting is responding to this by establishing a new Nordic delivery model for SAP”, explains Johnny Rindahl. As part of EDB Business Partner, Spring Consulting can now deliver services that cover the entire value chain.

“We now have greater effectiveness and financial strength. This means that we can take on overall responsibility for delivering the complete package to our customers”, adds Johnny Rindahl.

“Customers can achieve significant savings by optimising the value chain. Focusing on the complete picture and making more efficient use of resources ensures that customers achieve their business targets more quickly, and helps to ensure successful delivery”, comments Lars Torp, Managing Director of Spring Consulting Norway. He points out that by working with the customer’s entire value chain, Spring Consulting can help to reduce the lifetime cost of a SAP system by some 20% -30%. “Customers want to see not just cost savings but also high delivery quality, and focus on the entire value chain is the key to success”, adds Lars Torp.

Expanded partnership with SAP
This is the first Nordic partnership of its kind for SAP solutions.
“SAP is keen to strengthen its position in the Nordic region, and this expanded collaboration with Spring Consulting will make it possible to realise our ambitions. We want to provide a quicker response to the market, and access to a Nordic operation brings our solutions closer to the customers”, says Henrik Rasmussen, Head of the Nordic region at SAP.
“SAP and Spring Consulting share the same view of how the Nordic market should be addressed. Our collaboration will provide a more complete offer for customers and better access to SAP expertise”, comments Svein Arne Lilleløkken, Partnership Manager at SAP.

Spring Consulting has established a Nordic-wide organisation and the new collaboration with SAP means that resources will be deployed across national boundaries.
“We have implemented a business model that ensures a free flow of consulting resources. Customers will be assured access to our leading-edge expertise”, explains Lars Torp.

Growing market
Spring Consulting has recruited 50 new employees in 2006, and now has a total staff of 180 in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Spring Consulting and SAP have identified a number of focus areas that offer significant potential for growth.
“We can help to boost SAP Nordic’s presence in our focus areas of industry, distribution, media, telecommunications and shipping”, comments Johnny Rindahl of Spring Consulting.
