Cultura Colectiva Wins Top International Summit Emerging Media Award

The leading media brand for Gen Z and Millennials was named an Innovator for their Johnnie Walker campaign

NEW YORK – WEBWIRE

Cultura Colectiva, the fastest-growing media brand for millennials and Gen Z, today announced that they have won a 2017 Summit Emerging Media Award. The company was named an Innovator for their work with Johnnie Walker.

“We’re honored to be included in the 2017 class of Emerging Media Award winners that includes so many great companies and campaigns,” said Luis Enriquez, founder and CEO of Cultura Colectiva. “Cultura Colectiva has the privilege of working with elite brands who want to get in front of our massive online audience. With the recent launch of Cultura Colectiva +, we’re excited to do the same for US companies who wish to reach our unique audience of millennials, Gen Z and Latino-Americans.”

Cultura Colectiva, based in Mexico City, launched its US arm, Cultura Colectiva +, in December 2017 to create culturally-driven stories for millennials, Gen Z and Latino-American communities in the United States. Through a first-of-its-kind approach to data-driven storytelling, Cultura Colectiva uses unique algorithms that are able to adapt to current trends and produce content with the highest possible reach.

Cultura Colectiva outranked more than 1,000 companies to win the Summit Emerging Media Award, an honor only given to six percent of the total entries.

“Those involved in today’s emerging media technologies are the leaders who are establishing tomorrow’s avenues of advertising communications and emphasizing the importance of the consumer’s experience,” said Jocelyn Luciano, Executive Director for the Summit International Awards (SIA). “Most communication professionals recognize that established avenues of communication can be reliable and safe. However, audiences are becoming increasingly fragmented and difficult to engage, inform and affect. Developing, applying and combining emerging media with creative messaging and market awareness is challenging;  achieving this synthesis is what makes earning a Summit EMA a significant achievement.”

The Summit International Awards organization (SIA) stands apart by offering a competitive environment where entries are judged alongside those of their peers. Companies and individuals from more than 50 countries and across five continents participate in its award programs for the opportunity to be recognized as an SIA winner. A wide variety of brands including American Eagle, AARP and the Orlando Magic have received an Emerging Media Award for using mobile applications, video and social media in innovative ways.

Currently, Cultura Colectiva + is averaging more than 300 monthly video views, on pace to surpass the 870 million monthly views of the Spanish site -- a top-five mark among leading media companies. Cultura Colectiva’s engagement rate for its content is 30 percent higher on average than the top-50 digital media players in the US.
