Crestron Founding Member Of Lighting Control Alliance; Jim McGrath First Vice Chair

October 05, 2006 - Crestron is a founding member of an exciting new industry council that formed to raise the awareness and communicate the value and benefits of residential lighting control. The Home Lighting Control Alliance (HLCA) is a group of industry professionals that will develop and fund an aggressive marketing campaign targeting builders, trade professionals and consumers with a consistent message promoting home lighting control. Jim McGrath, Product Manager, Crestron Lighting Controls, is the board’s first Vice Chairman.

Crestron recognizes that lighting represents a huge market in the custom home installation industry, and that realizing the full potential of this market would make a substantial impact on our industry’s growth. Already, lighting control is the third most requested home technology behind distributed audio and home theater. Nearly half of all builders currently offer lighting control in new homes, and 75 percent of “luxury” homes include lighting control.

Modeled after the Distributed Audio Alliance (DAA), the HLCA intends to mirror its successful promotional campaigns to increase awareness and sustainable growth of lighting systems. Since the creation of the DAA, the distributed audio business has experienced double-digit growth and continues to be the fastest growing product category of home technology. The HLCA believes that the lighting business will experience similar increases in sales and market penetration for new construction, renovations and retrofit applications.

The alliance includes leading manufacturers of lighting control products, experienced systems integrators and prestigious industry associations.

For 35 years Crestron has been the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced control and automation systems, innovating technology and reinventing the way people live and work. Offering integrated solutions to control audio, video, computer, IP and environmental systems, Crestron streamlines technology, improving the quality of life for people in corporate boardrooms, conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, and in their homes.

Crestron’s leadership stems from its dedicated people who are committed to providing the best products, programs and services in the industry.

In addition to its World Headquarters in Rockleigh, New Jersey, Crestron has sales and support offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Australia.
