Website owner asking for $1 to build his dream house

The owner of the website is asking for people visiting his site to donate $1 or more to him to build an energy efficient show home. The estimated cost is somewhere between $600k and $700k and when completed will be open to the public for tours one day a week for two years. After that it will occasionally open but mostly used as the site owners residence. Companies are welcome to donate products and services also for promotional and advertising exposure.
