ShareGate 5.14 - Full Visibility on Custom Features Created Within a SharePoint Environment is Now Possible
Because it can be difficult for SharePoint admins to have full visibility on every custom feature created within their sites, this month’s release brings a solution to that problem. The Inventory tool has been improved, and now offers clear details on whether custom features within sites are activated, hidden, deployed, and if they will be supported for migration.
Last month’s update, which allows users to send us feedback directly within Shategate, triggered a ton of useful comments from users. So this time around, we decided to focus on releasing updates that directly responded to those requests. In other words, we have our users to thank for this month’s release!
Sharegate, the Office 365 & SharePoint management tool, known in information technology circles for its simplicity and user-friendliness, has added on to their already extensive Inventory tool, now allowing for custom features detection. They’ve also come up with two new much-anticipated scripts for the PowerShell component of their Migration tool.
Because it can be difficult for SharePoint admins to have full visibility on every custom feature created within their sites, this month’s release brings a solution to that problem. The Inventory tool has been improved, and now offers clear details on whether custom features within sites are activated, hidden, deployed, and if they will be supported for migration.
Furthermore, in the Sharegate Migration tool, users can now find two new pre-built scripts for the PowerShell component that will allow them to access their SharePoint environment, in order to export sites and lists to various destinations. So, rather than performing manual exports, users can now schedule them and even run them in bulk.
