CommonWealth One Shred Day Set for April 16, 2016

CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union is hosting two Shred Day events on Saturday, April 16, 2016.

Members and the community are encouraged to go green and protect their identity by having their sensitive personal documents shredded and recycled, including old tax records, bills, paycheck stubs and more.

The Shred Day events are at CommonWealth One’s Main Branch in Alexandria, VA, at 4875 Eisenhower Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 16, and at the Harrisonburg Regional Branch in Harrisonburg, VA, at 42 Terri Drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16. This event is free and open to the public.

Our Shred Day partner companies ask that you bring only loose paper and avoid binders, binder clips, checkbooks and any electronics.
“Last fall we shred over 10,000 pounds of documents for our members and residents in our communities,” said Karyle Thornton, Chief Marketing Officer.  “With the help of H&R Contractors in Harrisonburg, VA and Safeguard Shredding in Alexandria, VA, we’re looking forward to providing our members with this popular service and shredding thousands of pounds on April 16th.”

CommonWealth One staff will be at both locations to personally assist members and the public with disposing of their materials. Branch Managers and staff will also be available to answer questions about mortgages, auto loans, checking and savings accounts, online account opening, and e-Services, including Mobile Web Banking and Text Banking as well as other financial products and services.
