AFL to Showcase New Fusion Splicer and Air-Jetted Solution at BICSI Winter

Spartanburg, SC – WEBWIRE

AFL, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic solutions, is introducing two new products at the BICSI Winter Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 23-25. The Fujikura 21S Fusion Splicer, the world’s smallest and lightest active v-groove splicer, and the 72-fiber eABF® cable with Spider Web Ribbon (SWR) technology will be demonstrated throughout the show. Attendees can see product demonstrations in AFL’s booth, No. 1215.

The Fujikura 21S is a mid-range fusion splicer that uses active cladding alignment to provide excellent low loss splice results. With moveable v-grooves, splicing errors caused by dust and other contaminants are eliminated. The compact and rugged Fujikura 21S Fusion Splicer also features removable sheath clamps and a large 4.7” LCD monitor. Additionally, the splicer is fully compatible with AFL’s FuseConnect® fusion spliced field installable connectors.

Also new this year is the 72-fiber eABF with SWR cable, an expansion to AFL’s eABF air-jetted solution line. The 72-fiber cable is an ultra-small, ribbon-like cable that can be quickly ribbonized for mass termination. Fifty percent smaller than traditional flat ribbon cables, the 72-fiber cable is optimized for jetting into the Dura-Line® 8.5/6 mm Enterprise FuturePath® MicroDuct pathway system. Unlike other blown-fiber systems, the 72-fiber cable does not require furcation tubing when routing through cable management spaces. The cable is GR-409 Interconnect compliant and comes in NFPA/NEC Riser and Plenum configurations.

Other products and services to be featured in AFL’s booth include, fiber inside plant and outside plant apparatus, test equipment, field fusion splicers, fiber optic cable and Light Brigade training and education. For more information about AFL, its products and services, visit www.AFLglobal.com.
