We took some risks and bent some rules, but NorthSky struck a chord. Sales have been excellent in the south Denver community, and we take that as proof of concept." Scott Sudik

Englewood, CO - Godden|Sudik Architects recently garnered two prestigious Gold Awards at this year’s “The Nationals” awards gala, which was held at the Palace Ballroom at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Put on each year during the International Builders Show, The Nationals is the home building industry’s largest international gathering of sales, marketing and design professionals, who gather to honor the best in the building industry for excellence, determination, integrity and marketing & design creativity.

Both awards were earned for Best Architectural Design for the same builder, Berkeley Homes (in partnership with Harvard Communities), in the same community, NorthSky at RidgeGate in southern Denver’s Lone Tree area. Godden|Sudik Architects collaborated with Berkeley Homes / Harvard Communities to win Gold Awards in the following categories:

  • Best Architectural Design of a Single Family Home 2,500-3,000 Sq. Ft
  • Best Architectural Design of a Single Family Home Over 4000 Sq. Ft

“We took some risks and bent some rules, but NorthSky struck a chord. Sales have been excellent in the south Denver community, and we take that as proof of concept,” said Scott Sudik, architect of NorthSky, an enclave of 33 new homes that also recently earned the prestigious “Project of the Year” award and two other top design honors at the 2014 MAME Awards, the Denver Homebuilder Association’s annual recognition of excellence in the new construction industry.

NorthSky’s strong indoor-outdoor connection, another mid-century modern pillar, is amplified by Douglas County’s compelling landscapes. Nestled into a hillside at an elevation of nearly 6,200 feet, NorthSky homes offer stunning panoramas of the Denver skyline on the north horizon and the Rocky Mountains to the west. Douglas County open space, bluffs and rolling hills dominate the south. “We knew we wanted to take full advantage of the breathtaking Colorado views,” said Sudik, adding, “Anywhere you stand, the homes were designed to draw the outside in.  We also designed these Berkeley Homes models to fit the way we live.”

NorthSky is a neighborhood of 33 contemporary ranch and two-story luxury homes in the Lone Tree, Colorado master-planned community of RidgeGate. Four floor plans range in size from 2,453 to 3,811 square feet and are priced from $800,000 to $1.1 million. The huge appeal of the NorthSky homes—both exteriors and interiors—starts and ends with innovative design that emphasizes efficiency, simplicity and elegance. With their open, light-filled floor plans, NorthSky homes have a definite mid-century modern vibe that appeals to both design-savvy Baby Boomers and their hip millennial children.  Find out more about this and other award-winning architecture by Godden|Sudik Architects by visiting their website at www.goddensudik.com.
