Media and Presentation Skills Training

Workshops will prepare executives for media interviews,
crisis events, and speaking presentations

USA – WEBWIRE

“One of the greatest impediments to success is the inability to communicate well,” said Drake. “Our training focuses on developing the communications agenda, and then delivering that message, whether it’s in a media encounter or a presentation to staff or the board with clarity, confidence, and credibility.”

Media and presentation skills coach Michael Drake has launched his new website http://MediaSkills.com. This site features media training, presentation skills and speech dynamics, and crisis communications courses, as well as techniques on how to overcome stage fright whether in front of the TV cameras or a live audience. It also has a series of free articles and videos on how to be more effective in media interviews and become a more dynamic presenter.

Drake has three decades of experience working in the broadcast media, as a professional narrator, and public speaker as well as many years of formal training voice and speech. He has worked with more than 4,000 individuals, including mid- and c-level executives, military leaders and elected officials, authors and entertainers, to help them prepare for media interviews and presentations.

In his career, Drake has worked on BOTH sides of the microphone - as a reporter, producer and news anchor in television and radio news, and as the media spokesperson for several business and government entities. He has appeared on stations throughout the U.S. and around the world, and repeatedly on the major news networks such as CNN™, Fox News™, NBC™, ABC™, and PBS™.

The media training offered by the Media Skills Workshop ranges from the basic Media 101 to Advanced Media Training to Crisis Communications. In Media 101 Drake works with those who have little or no experience interacting with the media, teaching how the media operates and think like a reporter, how craft memorable and effective quotes and soundbites, and how to overcome any fear and intimidation of the reporters and cameras. The advanced media training courses teach how to handle the hostile reporter and what to do in an ambush interview, how to control of the situation, and again deliver the crafted message with confidence, clarity and credibility.

Drake brings additional experience to the crisis communications training workshops having faced the media as the spokesperson during crisis events. In the Crisis Communications Training course, executives learn how to develop key messages and get their point across with confidence and authority, even under extreme pressure. The course includes drafting a Crisis Communications Plan and then executing that plan in a variety of very real crisis scenarios. The Media Skills Workshop training teaches how to control the message and correct any misleading information.
