New Technology Helps Turn the Tide in Battle vs. Prescription Abandonment

PSKW, LLC, a leading provider of biopharma loyalty relationship marketing services, today announced the launch of new technology that has been proven to help reduce prescription abandonment. Easy SaveTM is the first in-pharmacy, in-workflow co-pay assistance solution with pharmacist discretion. Easy Save automatically prompts pharmacists when a particular prescription is eligible for co-pay assistance. If the pharmacist foresees a significant risk of abandonment, they simply apply the co-pay support and then explain the manufacturer-provided savings to the patient. Easy Save gives pharmacists the ability to avoid embarrassing cost-centered pharmacist/patient exchanges and decrease the rate of “sticker-shock” Rx abandonment.

PSKW developed Easy Save in partnership with Emdeon, the largest intelligent financial, administrative and clinical health information network in the nation. PSKW utilizes its intellectual property, including its in-house database and its preferred-status relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, to identify the best available offer for co-pay assistance. Leveraging this relationship, Easy Save offers a simple, in-workflow solution that requires no patient enrollment. Furthermore, Easy Save can be added to existing co-pay programs or used as a standalone program.
 
Initial results from Easy Save data have shown that patients refill their prescriptions more frequently (two to three more prescription refills per year) and stay on therapy longer than patients who are not offered co-pay assistance programs. And it’s not just patients and pharmacists who benefit; Easy Save serves physicians by helping them successfully implement their carefully considered treatment plans.
