WEXFORD, PA – WEBWIRE

Allegheny Health Network breast radiologist William Poller, MD, and breast surgeon Shivani Duggal, DO, will discuss “Breast Cancer Screening and Treatment: What I Should Expect as a Patient,” Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion, 12311 Perry Highway.

Topics will include new screening options such as the breast tomosynthesis technology now available at the Health + Wellness Pavilion, which offers clearer images; newer surgical and non-surgical treatment options, and prevention.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to prevention and early detection of breast cancer, a disease which will strike one in eight American women during her lifetime.

Allegheny Health Network’s Cancer Institute offers advanced, innovative, and individualized treatment for breast cancer, and is ranked alongside the finest institutions in the U.S. for best practices and outcomes for breast cancer. All patients are assigned a nurse navigator who serves as a partner and advocate, arranging appointments with care providers, continually communicating about tests, treatments, consultations, and offering an understanding, compassionate presence.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. To RSVP, please call 412.469.7002.
