Schneider Electric Awards Top Performing Suppliers at 2014 Global Supplier Day

Rueil-Malmaison (France) – WEBWIRE

Schneider Electric announced that 10 suppliers received awards that recognize top performance and excellence at the company’s fourth annual Global Supplier Day conference that was held in Shanghai, China. The award-winning suppliers differentiated themselves from a field of 235 of the company’s preferred production and non-production suppliers from roughly 30 countries who were in attendance.

Schneider Electric’s preferred supplier standing is assessed on an annual basis and is typically granted to a few hundred of the thousands of suppliers that conduct business with the company and who have set themselves apart based on meeting stringent criteria in the categories of Customer Satisfaction (quality, service), Total Cost of Ownership (competitiveness), Business Added Value (innovation), Sustainable Development (planet and society responsibility), and Cooperation (responsiveness). Preferred suppliers are systematically provided access to business opportunities with the company, as well as a preview to its research and development and product roadmaps.

For the first time since its inception, Global Supplier Day was held outside of Paris, France, and attracted participants from Asia-Pacific (40 percent), EMEA (40 percent), and the Americas (20 percent). The event centered predominantly on the themes of growth, collaboration, supply chain efficiency, competitiveness, innovation, and environmental excellence. In addition to listening to plenary remarks delivered by Chairman and CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chief Supply Chain Officer Annette Clayton, and Rene Orlandi, attendees participated in breakout sessions on myriad supply chain and purchasing topics and received first-hand previews and demonstrations of the company’s latest products and solutions.
