Philips wins awards for energy efficient products

Flat TV uses 15% less energy

Tuesday, August 15, 2006, Amsterdam, The Netherlands– Royal Philips has won notable awards in both Europe and Asia for designing energy efficient products with a reduced environmental impact.



The European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA)– comprised of 50 magazines from 20 countries – has named one of Philips’s flat TV’s1 European Green TV of the Year, 2006-2007. On the other side of the world, the Philips’ micro jukebox2 recently received the bronze prize in the 2006 Hong Kong Eco-Products Awards, a competition of the Hong Kong Business Environment Council.



The judges were impressed by the products very low power consumption; for the flat TV 15% less than that of its nearest competitor. They also appreciated the easier end-life disassembly enabling components to be separated for recycling or safe disposal.
