A Waterfront Wedding Venue Can Be Affordable

Mr Ramy Shelhot, events director of waterfront wedding venue www.sugaroom.com.au, explains that the lower demand for winter weddings gives couples an upper hand in negotiating their event costs.
  
“It is difficult for couples on a budget to find a location with the ‘wow’ factor but they don’t want to settle for something just average,” Mr Shelhot said.
 
“Going for traditionally off-season months, from May to August, can cost much less than holding the same event in peak summer and spring months", he said.
                         
“Few people know that July and August can be the driest months of the year and that for the last two years the average maximum temperature between May and August was above 17 degrees”.
 
‘When you think of how uncertain the weather can be at any given time or how hot it can get in summer, it doesn’t seem worth it to pay more for hosting an event at that time”.
 
Mr Shelhot said that couples wanting to avoid paying through the teeth for a wedding venue could benefit from the following:
 
·         Do some research as to weather patterns: average rainfall, temperatures and wind conditions are different depending on the time of year.
·         Find out which venues and suppliers offer a discount for winter events: this could be either readily advertised or negotiated.
·         Ask for inclusions: most venues and other suppliers of wedding services such as flowers, cake and photographers will happily throw in a few extras, particularly for a winter or weekday event.
 
The Federal Government run-Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) say the cost of a winter wedding can cost one third less than a wedding in peak season.
