"This makes Mexico the most interesting country in Latin America at this time for many organizations looking to increase their share of the lucrative LGBT consumer market.” - Ian Johnson, CEO, Out Now

PUERTO VALLARTA - February 27, 2014 (OUTNOW) -- The latest findings from the world’s largest market research study into the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people show that the value of the Mexican LGBT market increased by 6% since 2012 - to now be worth USD$71 billion in annual income earned during 2013.

The LGBT2020 Study is a global research initiative by the world’s leading LGBT consulting company, Out Now -- -- who today released the latest market research data from the Mexico sample in the study.

Out Now has worked with many of the world’s leading organizations during its 22 years of operations and their CEO, Ian Johnson, said that the latest research shows that Mexico’s LGBT market is likely to increase in importance to a growing range of companies and other organizations.

“The three key markets in Latin America to date were Argentina, Brazil and Mexico,” Johnson says. “2014 has seen some dramatic shifts in the region with Brazil experiencing an economic slowdown and Argentina finding itself struggling due to unfortunate ‘crony’ economics at government level. Mexico stands this year as the brightest light in LGBT marketing in the region. With Argentina experiencing poorer economic conditions, the new LGBT2020 research for Mexico shows that the LGBT market in the country has strengthened its position over the past year. This makes Mexico the most interesting country in Latin America at this time for many organizations looking to increase their share of the lucrative LGBT consumer market.”

The LGBT market is to take center stage in June this year at the 4th International LGBT Business Expo being held in Puerto Vallarta - an event presented by LGBT Confex.

LGBT Confex CEO, Ruben Sandoval, says that his company is pleased to provide a unique and powerful forum for businesses that wish to learn more about how to tap into the valuable LGBT market in Mexico.

“LGBT Confex has worked for four years now to help organizations make valuable business connections at our annual LGBT expo,” Sandoval says. “Each year we have seen the interest from business roughly double and that encourages us to keep innovating and providing education, exhibition space and networking to allow our delegates to do better business in LGBT markets in Mexico - and across the world.”

The 4th International LGBT Business Expo is being held from June 12 - 14 in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The Host Hotel is the Casamagna Marriott Hotel. Participants include American Airlines, Out & Equal, American Express, Bank of America, Human Rights Campaign, Familias Unidas, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico Tourism Office and Out Now Global.
