Twitter Spam to be discussed at the January 14-16, 2014 iDate Internet Dating Super Conference in Las Vegas
On January 14-16, 2014, Damon McCoy, Assistant Professor at George Mason University will discuss the results from a a research study conducted with Twitter and other university professors on the topic of Twitter Spam.

Damon McCoy, Assistant Professor at George Mason University conducted a research study with Twitter and other university professors. In this study, twitter accounts were purchased from underground sellers that were responsible for creating and reselling accounts to spammers. After analysis of these accounts with Twitter, Professor McCoy was able to identify patterns in their registration that resulted in the detection and blocking of several million fraudulently registered accounts. Professor McCoy’s presentation will cover defenses Twitter uses for detecting and blocking fraudulent accounts and how dating marketers can avoid these spamming services and improve their legitimate marketing strategies.
