Whitepaper discusses integrated Remote Monitoring & Control Service for increased competitive advantage

A new M2M whitepaper has been published by Vodafone that discusses its Remote Monitoring & Control Service (RMCS), which aims to increase the competitive advantage of a business.
 
Through Vodafone’s RMSC, a business can reduce its costs and save valuable time, improve its agility and edge, and increase its competitive advantage.
 
Vodafone’s integrated Remote Monitoring and Control Service combines hardware, a managed machine to machine (M2M) connectivity service, and applications, in order to enable customers to remotely monitor and control their M2M-enabled equipment with a single partner.
 
Machine to machine communications is one of the most disruptive technologies available to businesses today, and its potential has only just started to be used.
 
As discussed in Vodafone’s new M2M whitepaper, the benefits of using RMSC include better equipment uptime, lowered servicing costs, the ability to offer entirely new commercial and pricing models, and managing and maintaining widely distributed industrial equipment.
 
RMCS gives management the ability to automatically monitor the health of its assets, in real time, without having to send an engineer to the site – this increases efficiency.
 
The system scans for faults and defects 24/7, such as unwanted vibration or rapid increases in temperature, and acts accordingly to these problems. For example, by automatically booking an engineer to visit with the right spare part, remotely initiating a failover to a backup system, or polling all the other pieces of equipment to double check for a similar emerging fault.
 
Through this system monitoring, a business can change the way to charge customers, which will benefit cash flow measurement of the customer and on-going revenue steam, giving a business a higher profit margin.
