Philanthropic Homebuilder, Century Communities, Donates $9,000 to the Red Cross’s Colorado Flood Relief Effort

During a brief Monday morning ceremony, Colorado based homebuilder, Century Communities, handed over a $9,000 check to the American Red Cross to help Colorado flood victims and flood relief efforts.  The proceeds were generated by donating $250 of every home Century Communities sold from September 15, 2013 to October 15, 2013.

“As residential homebuilders, we have a special appreciation for how important a home is to an individual or a family,” commented Century’s Director of Marketing, Mike Davidson. “When so many have had their lives uprooted by such a devastating natural disaster, we simply wanted to find ways to help,” Davidson added.

Century Communities is quick to help when disasters happen.  The builder partnered with the American Red Cross in the summer of 2012, donating $10,000 to assist victims of the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs and other fire-stricken areas around Colorado. “The American Red Cross is grateful for the generosity of our community. All of Century’s 16 communities participated in this latest flood relief fundraising effort, selling 36 homes during the 30-day span. Century Communities builds homes all along Colorado’s Front Range, as far North as Windsor and South to Colorado Springs.  “With so many great models, home types, price ranges and quality locations around Colorado, we knew we could set our donation goals high,” says Ken Rabel, Executive Vice President of Operations of Century Communities, adding, “Our team came through with a strong sales month just when it was most needed.  We are both proud of our effort and humbled to be able to help such a worthy organization with an incredibly daunting relief effort.”
